Welcome

Welcome to the official website of East Windsor Rescue Squad 146, serving the residents of East Windsor Township, Mercer County, NJ, for the past 37 years.
Our squad is proud to be counted among the dwindling number of entirely volunteer squads in not only the county, but the state, as well as one of the even fewer who provide this service free of charge.

Hurricane Season Is Here!

Hurricane season once again is upon us and officially starts June 1st. With the change in the climate and ocean currents it seems as if we are going to experience storms of great magnitude more often now than in the past. With that being said, the last two years we experienced disastrous storms that many people were not prepared for. I urge you to take every precaution now, instead of waiting until after the storm hits. As you are all aware once the storm hits there is mad dash to all the local stores for supplies, however, when you arrive, the shelves are bare. Consider getting a back-up generator. Even a small one will do the job of charging your cell phones or laptops so you can communicate with family, friends and emergency services should the need arise. Please do not operate any generators inside your house or garage even if the garage door is open. Additionally, have a supply of batteries, flashlights, water, and non-perishable foods. For the residents that have home oxygen, a back-up generator will necessary to operate your oxygen machines. You should also contact your medical supply company before the storm and have them deliver extra oxygen bottles and hook-ups that do not require power to operate.

Another good idea may be to temporarily stay with loved ones. During the initial storm and even in the days after contact with loved ones could be difficult if not impossible. If you are with them you will know each other is safe.

Finally, visit ready.gov/hurricanes for more ways to prepare for any storms that may come our way this year.

As always think ahead and stay safe.
Your friends and family at the East Windsor Rescue Squad District II.
